Ask Don: What do you do when the progress stops?
Dear Don,
I love BSFF, however, I am working on an issue and progres has just stopped. I have done all the steps several times, what can I do next?
Don Elium: When BSFF treatment progress stops, and you have tried all the BSFF steps and you still get no further relief, it may be because you are focused only in your head. Try this: take two or three deeps breaths, place your hand on the center of your chest, then take one more deep breath. Now notice the problem and say your cue word. Then, do all the BSFF steps again, but now, with a soft awareness in the center of your chest.
Why does this work? Often, without realizing it, you are up into your head, thinking about the problem and trying consciously to get it to move. BSFF lets the subconscious do the work, not your conscious thinking about it or figuring it out.
When you consciously "try" to make the problem release, the subconscious will not initiate the BSFF treatment. It acts much as a horse might when you try to pull it abruptly forward and the horse stays still or pulls back. The more you consciously push and pull for things to change, the stronger the "no you don't" becomes. However, if the horse is trained well, and you say the right "signal," the horse moves forward with ease.
The BSFF cue word is that "signal." However, if you use the "signal" like an abrupt pull to the horse, nothing but resistance will happen. BSFF works solely on intention. Your conscious "doing" will be the stronger intention and it will over-ride the cue word signal of your treatment intention. [For the steps to BSFF Click Here]
Placing your hand on your heart with a few deep breaths helps to disengage the "thinking" and the "doing." This also helps you relax into your “feeling” Heart. It is of most importance to FEEL whatever comes.
You don't have to feel every emotion that is in the problem, as BSFF can clear much of that without all of it having to surface. However, when any emotion emerges, it is important to just experience it, surrender to it, and it will pass. If you clamp down in fear, start thinking about it, dissecting it, progress will stop again.
Therefore, you need to place relaxed attention down into your chest area. Again, simply put hand or a few fingers on the feeling Heart in the center of your chest. Take a couple of deep breaths and repeat the steps of BSFF again. This can help greatly. Also, you can use BSFF to help you relax into discomforts more easily.
As an added bonus, placing your hand over the center of your chest during BSFF treatments will begin opening the deeper unconditional love that resides in every Heart. I encourage you to invite your beautiful Heart to help you in this way, too.
Please let me know how it goes!
